1. Never Pay Upfront Fees!

2. Always Use a Licensed Brokerage- Such as Timeshare Resales USA (www.timeshareresalesusa.com). Do a background check on who you decide to work with. Ask for brokerage and agent licence number, etc...

3. Research the resale market prices. Contrary to the developer's pitch during your 90 minute tour, it's not an investment property. Timeshare prices on the resale market are generally 50-70% less than the resort prices. 

4. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. Be weary of telemarketer's calling your home, cell, or business line, and pitching you a dream. 

5. Keep you property up to day on payments. Once you get the offer that you have been waiting for, it's a hassle to go back and try to catch up on past due payments, and late fees are always a bummer! Pay the fees on time, and negotiate a reimburse into your sale agreement for the use year!
